Summary

Produced for the 2004 MUA National Conference, this short documentary recounts the Maritime Union of Australia’s work for internationalisation and solidarity. Introduced by Tas Bull, the film takes a historical look at important events and campaigns around the globe, such as boycotting Dutch shipping during the struggle for Indonesian independence, opposition to the French and US Vietnam wars, supporting Aboriginal workers in the Northern Territory, the fight against Apartheid in South Africa, supporting other unions at home and abroad as well as the international support received during the Patrick Dispute.
